A Manchester-founded instant book student accommodation marketplace, which has been supported by funding from GC Angels, is gearing up for further growth in 2023.
Housemates, founded by entrepreneur Lydia Jones in 2020, is looking to accelerate its digital transformation of the student housing sector.
The instant book student accommodation marketplace provides millions in rental contracts to PBSA accommodation providers across the UK, Ireland and Australia.
In March 2020, Housemates secured £100,000 of pre-seed funding from GC Angels to support with plans to expand its platform across the UK and internationally.
At the time, its operations primarily focused on Manchester, but it now has two offices in the UK and India. Students are able to use the platform to book accommodation across the UK, Ireland and Australia, and has grown to more than one million rooms under management.
